Byng Place Closure

January 21, 2017

Work continues on the Cockburn and Calrossie Sewer Relief Project, which involves the installation of approximately 1.9 km of new sewer pipes. These upgrades will help protect:

  • Homes from basement flooding against basement flooding, and
  • The water quality of our rivers and lakes by reducing the frequency of combined sewer overflows.

To complete the next phase of the project we will need to temporarily close a section of Byng Place to vehicular traffic, between Rockman Street and the east side of the CN Rail tracks (see map on reverse). We expect this section will be closed from January 18, 2017 until the end of April 2017. Access to properties on Byng Place will be maintained through the lanes on either side of Byng Place, with the exception of the northeast end of the lane south of Byng Place.

Services maintained during construction

  • Garbage and recycling collection for residents on Byng Place will not be affected.
  • Your water and sewer service will not be interrupted.
  • You will have access to your property at all times.

Traffic/parking restrictions during construction

  • Traffic will temporarily be restricted on Byng Place (between Rockman Street and the CN Rail tracks)

To keep your children safe, please keep them away from the construction site at all times.
