Dear Residents:

Repairs on the outfall along the bank of the Assiniboine River north of 1620 Wellington Crescent will take place from February 15, 2013 to mid-March 2013.

River outfalls are the pipes through which urban runoff, carried primarily by land drainage sewers, are drained to the rivers.

There are more than 350 river outfalls in thecity. The outfalls have been inspected and we have developed a prioritized list of locations for repairs.

Repairs must take place January to March when the rivers arefrozen and there is no water flowing through the outfall pipes.

Darco Enterprises Ltd. is the contractor for this project.

We expect they will work during normal working hours (7am to 5pm) and will access the riverbank through City property.

During construction:

your water and sewer service will not be interrupted,

Please Note: The section of pathway along the river in the vicinity of the constructionarea will be closed for the duration of construction.

Final restoration including revegetation and damaged boulevard and pavement areas will be completed in the spring.

your recycling and garbage collection will not be affected.

To keep your children safe, please keep them away from the construction site at all times.

Funds from the City’s budget will pay for this project.
