Sir Hugh John Macdonald’s Winnipeg: A Downtown Walking Tour with Ron Robinson

Take a walk with “Sir Hugh John Macdonald” from his home at Dalnavert to the Millennium Library. On route, “Sir Hugh” (Ron Robinson) will introduce you to the many downtown sites that touched his life and continue to play a role in Winnipeg’s urban setting. At the Millennium Library, the tour will wrap up in the Local History Room where participants will learn how to find out more about the people, places, and history that surrounds us every day.

Sir Hugh John Macdonald was the son of the first Prime Minister and was a member of the House of Commons. He moved to Winnipeg in 1882 and Dalnavert was his home. Ron Robinson has hosted programs on CBC and CKUW, is an avid bibliophile, and was a founding partner of McNally Robinson.
